Here I will be outlining the art pieces I made for second semester of university classes and the inspiration behind it.
In first year, students try the 5 different majors and in my second semester we tried drawing, painting and printmaking.
Still life.
For this task we learned about line shading erasure and perspective to make still life sketches.

erasure technique experimentation
This was a more difficult task and for it I chose to do a small fantasy Tudor style house. For some reason watercolour is classes as part of drawing not painting so I used this to colour the project purple.

For the task I decided to combine form and botanicals into a falling figure sprouting mushrooms. At the time of assessment this was just a mixed medium drawing but later evolved into a full framed piece. this work was made with watercolour, coloured pencil, pastels and charcoal.
This was my favourite piece from this semester.

Over a year after starting this piece I finished it off, cut it out and mounted it between two panes of glass.
This piece can now be found at The Chapel Gallery Highfields.
We explored techniques of colour mixing, colour theory and colour pallets.
For this task I created a shattered moth painting using different shades of 3 colours.
This work is also available at The Chapel Gallery

This is not my specialty but was an interesting topic. For my artwork in this task, I made a monochromatic purple portrait of one of my Dungeons and Dragons characters.
To maintain consistent proportions, I utilised a projector to project my sketch onto the canvas

For this task I designed a character portrait in black and white utilising negative space to shapes such as the hair.
This work took two tries as I didn't like the first take, and i decided to change the background to black and shade the outfit

For this task we experimented with screen printing and had to create a design with at least 3 layers.
For this task I designed a T-shirt version of the Toowoomba Dungeons and Dragons Club logo to test ideas about creating club shirts.

In this task we learned how to use both lino and etch printing techniques and using these techniques we had to make a small set of prints.

For this task we learned how to make an accordion style art book.
I decided to create a book where each spread had dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures from different time periods starting in the Jurassic and ending in the Pleistocene era with megafauna.
I also used the etch print made in the last module in this book.
